It’s about time I shared another precious newborn baby photography session on my blog! Little man was 2 weeks old the day I visited him and his mommy and daddy at their beautiful home in downtown Columbia. He was a good boy and the whole family, I am sure you will agree, look amazing in their photos.

Every session is unique and no matter how simple or how grand the home or the decor or the wardrobe…..no matter if it’s a baby boy or a baby girl (or both!)…..no matter if it is an Itty Bitty Natural Baby Session or a Deluxe Newborn Session…..no matter if it is a firstborn or there are siblings or pets, I love working with families to give them beautiful portraiture of this blessed time in their lives.

Things I loved about this session:
Baby boy was exceptionally handsome with WONDERFUL hair
Mom & Dad were very easy to work with and took all my direction and coaching extremely well
Beautiful home decorated for the holidays
A pet who agreed to briefly pose with baby…..this time a CAT!
A beautiful nursery filled with furniture and lighting from Restoration Hardware

I hope you enjoy looking through the images. There are more pre-holiday sessions to blog and another newborn session next Monday. And if you are interested in booking a session with Ashley Ward Photography, I am currently taking appointments for January-May:)

Shelby: Amazing session with this handsome little guy and his family. Gorgeous home, beautiful nursery, and that CAT!!! Awesome work Ashley!

Kara Layfield: Ashley - these are perfect in every way!! LOVE the brown and blue. I just adore how you use your environment to it's fullest. LOVE the one with cat - too cute!

Dawn: A. Mazing. As usual. I just love your perspective, clean natural. Love it.

I have so much blogging to catch up on! I photographed this beautiful baby a few weeks ago and instantly fell in love with her beautiful head of full, dark hair, her sweet features, and OF COURSE…..her very sleepy disposition!!! Mommy welcomed me in and I set about capturing this sweetpea in the comfort of their own beautiful home, which made for a gorgeous backdrop. I snuggled this newborn girl into a cozy little basket and photographed her in the home’s foyer to begin the session. We wrapped up the session in the master bedroom, where mommy and her angel comfortably snuggled and I made more photographs. I love the images and am sharing just a few here.

Justyna: Lovely, gorgeous images and baby too.

I am so thrilled with how well the Itty Bitty Natural Baby Sessions are going! I love photographing newborn babies so much and it is awesome to be able to offer these session to more new parents!

Look at this little princess! She is so beautiful and slept so well for the first part of our session! She let me wrap her and gently position her in my little bassinet basket without a bit of protest!

I love the outdoor images from this morning session. With the sun coming up behind the home, I was able to photograph the family and the baby in the softer wrapped and bounced light found on the front porch. There was a lovely sweet potato vine there that had really long runners and I found I was able to place the baby bassinet basket right among the runners so that in the images you hardly saw that it was a porch at all! The basket was just surrounded by this gorgeous greenery. I adjusted my camera settings to keep the focus very shallow so that the leaves in the foreground and background would grow increasingly out of focus to add to the dreamy feel of the image.

Now, can we take a second to talk about this client’s dog?!? Oh my gosh! This is the second time I have photographed a family with a puggle who wanted to incorporate them in the images. Both dogs were fantastic and it only took a little patience and teamwork between myself and the client to get the great images. Here is the first puggle + baby image I made:

I LOVED the session, LOVED the images, and LOVED that dog. That image in particular is one of my favorites.

With this new client, their puggle had just turned 1 year old! I was a little concerned about working with a dog this age and getting her to cooperate for the image. However, once again, some experience on my part and a cooperative effort between me and my awesome clients and we were able to get not one great shot, but TWO! I couldn’t be more thrilled. The images are already on my website in my “fur baby” gallery:)

OK, on to the images of the beautiful growing family! Enjoy!!!

Leah Jent: That baby is so beautiful! (Hope my little girl is half as cute!) What a fantastic bunch of images. Your work is just lovely, Ashley!

Lorretta Claes: Great amazing issues here. I am fantastically contented to distinguish your article. Gratitude so much and i'm having a look ahead to contact you. Will you benevolently dive me a e-mail?

Recently I was as pleased as I could be to work with this precious little girl and her new family! Although she took a bit of time to sleep for us, once she did, she absolutely rocked her session! And if you don’t believe me, check out the images. She slept and posed like a little pro! Mom and Dad were a delightful couple and I can see that they are already wrapped around their daughter’s tiny little finger:)

This was an Itty Bitty Natural Baby Session, a new session offering that I am thrilled to provide my clients. The goal of these sessions is to provide families with beautiful, natural imagery of one of the most incredible times in their lives. These sessions have limited availability. If you are interested, I would love to meet with you! Call for a getting-to-know-you appointment at 803-348-3306:)
