Have you ever heard that 7 is a lucky number? It must be for this family……baby number 5 just made his arrival in their happy home! When mom and I talked months ago about her family and her desire for a newborn photography appointment, I knew their session would be special. After all, they already had 4 children and 2 were under the age of 5 and one was still basically a baby herself! With a little flexibility on both of our parts, we were able to capture their beautiful family all together. And what makes these images even more special is the location……the home that all of their children were brought home to when they were born. This is a home they may be leaving soon too. Think how priceless these images will be as this baby grows! They will serve as a reminder of how precious and tiny he once was, and how beautiful and full of love their home was…..the place where family began!

There are many more newborn sessions to come! I’m a little behind in blogging and hope you will enjoy watching me play catch-up:) If you have been considering a summer session, contact me as soon as possible. June is almost booked! Thank you! And don’t forget to check out the blog post about my new logo, website, and blog redesign. There is a session giveaway there so read all about it and enter to win! And thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a little love for me and all my lovely clients!

Anna: Ashley!!! Absolutely beautiful images!!

Kel Ward: These are fantastic! I can feel the love and all the crazy fun! Gorgeous family, love the outfits, great angles, just all around awesome. That b&w shot of mom and baby is my favorite, by the way. Stunning!

Carrie: I adore the way you capture everything from the family's connection, the newness of each precious baby and also their beautiful homes. Your talent is overwhelming!

If you have not been here before, thank you so much for visiting my blog! If you have been here before, you’ve probably noticed that things have changed around here! A new logo and new branding has given my blog a much needed facelift. And head over to to see my new website! I hope you like what you see! That debut was announced last week along with a drawing. I’m extending the time for the drawing since I have had some technical difficulties reported to me that may have kept some people from being able to enter. Hear that?! Go read and comment on last week’s post to enter an awesome drawing! What is it for? Well, you will just have to go read it to find out!!!

So on to my recent post…..if this little girl doesn’t bring a smile to your face, nothing will! What a joy she was to photograph. She was all smiles and giggles. And FAST! This little one is one the move!!! She will be walking and then running before her parents know it.

And her room was perfect for this precious princess. It was sweet and lovely, just like her! Mom has decorated her room perfectly.

Mom and Dad, thank you for letting me spend time with you photographing your precious girl! I enjoyed my time with you and hope you will treasure the portraits from our session:)

Kara Layfield: LOVE the colors in the first image! Such a beautiful session Ashley...they are perfection!

Good morning! The reveal day is here. For some time I have been planning an all new look for my business. I have a brand new logo and business colors and packaging. The new logo was designed by Valerie Dolder, a talented graphic artist. There is also a brand new website that has taken some time to build and put together. The blog has received a much needed face lift and even the facebook page is displaying the new logo and colors!!

As exciting as all of this is, it is only part of the change that is taking place with Ashley Ward Photography. There are so many beautiful new products available to my clients now…..from silk and linen covered albums, presentations boxes and folios to one of a kind art pieces, retouched by artists using an encaustic art technique. You can get a glimpse of these at my website, but I welcome current and previous clients or those considering a session to make an appointment to visit my client viewing space to see these gorgeous pieces in person, where they can truly be appreciated.

Check out the all new look and feel of the site and leave me a little love here, letting me know what you think! I will randomly choose one commenter next Friday to receive a free photography session this year! Please start your comment with the city where you reside so I will know you are local and want to be part of the drawing. All others commenting on the site over the next week may also book a session over the next 2 weeks for any available 2012 date and I will apply $75 of your session fee to the purchase of any collection! How is that for reciprocating the love!?!?

Trish: West Columbia-This is such a nice "polished" look! I love the new images. I just let the galleries on your website cycle through just because it's fun to look at all of the photos (the kids are so cute). I'm doing this at work and everyone is ooohing and aaahing. I like the "featured" section on your site and think that can help give prospective clients an idea of the full-range of the session. I also like the investment page which shows a sampling of what products are available. I wish you could add more images like this. I was blown away when I received my order...but had a difficult time deciding between collections and products during proofing time. It could be helpful if more of these products were featured somewhere on the site or blog and easily searchable.

This little prince was the best subject a newborn photographer could wish for! He is a blessing to his mother and father and sister to be sure. To his whole family! And my time with him and the family was just lovely. With the session being held in the family home, we were able to document his nursery and capture him in other areas of his home, which is so unique and beautiful! Mom specifically chose one of my handmade by me hats because she thought it made him look like a little Arabian prince from a fairytale. With the hats jeweled turban look, his peaceful, sweet smiles, and the beautiful worldly decor of her home, I would have to agree that that is PRECISELY what he looks like!
