I always look forward to my newborn baby photography sessions with great anticipation. Each baby I work with is uniquely beautiful and I get such a quiet joy from working with them and observing the bond developing between parents and child. The business of newborn photography can be quite challenging but the rewards are great, and at least once during every session my heart is touched by these beautiful babes deeply. I cannot tell you what an honor I consider it to work with all these parents and babies. I remember my absolute joy over all other emotions when my daughter was born. And bringing someone into your home during that first few weeks is no small act of trust. I am grateful to my clients for their trust in my skill, their appreciation of my art, and faith in my character. Thank you for believing in me and for commissioning me to create photographs for you that capture the magic and beauty in your lives!

I visit the family home for newborn sessions all the time but it’s been a while since I was called in to photograph a couple of little girls in their rooms. I have to say, I will NEVER tire of this kind of session! I just love photographing clients in their homes……the place where they play and love and grow. And especially when I have two ADORABLE little girls like this to photograph!!! Oh my goodness! Could they get any sweeter? I think not! And the girl’s rooms where the PERFECT place for their photography session……a place where they could just be themselves, in all their wild, adorable, sweet glory!

A sweet and precious baby girl, an adorable fur-baby, and parents who are an absolute pleasure….what photographer could ask for more! Truly I enjoyed every moment with this lovely family. Although baby girl wasn’t sure she wanted to cooperate, we eventually made her comfortable and happy enough to make a most excellent subject for her newborn photography session.

This was a full newborn session and so there was quite a variety of family images as well as portraits of just baby. I am so happy to be sharing a portion of them here:)

It’s about time I shared another precious newborn baby photography session on my blog! Little man was 2 weeks old the day I visited him and his mommy and daddy at their beautiful home in downtown Columbia. He was a good boy and the whole family, I am sure you will agree, look amazing in their photos.

Every session is unique and no matter how simple or how grand the home or the decor or the wardrobe…..no matter if it’s a baby boy or a baby girl (or both!)…..no matter if it is an Itty Bitty Natural Baby Session or a Deluxe Newborn Session…..no matter if it is a firstborn or there are siblings or pets, I love working with families to give them beautiful portraiture of this blessed time in their lives.

Things I loved about this session:
Baby boy was exceptionally handsome with WONDERFUL hair
Mom & Dad were very easy to work with and took all my direction and coaching extremely well
Beautiful home decorated for the holidays
A pet who agreed to briefly pose with baby…..this time a CAT!
A beautiful nursery filled with furniture and lighting from Restoration Hardware
