My name is Ashley Ward and I am a portrait photographer working in Columbia, SC. I am available for family sessions, women’s sessions, promotional sessions (head shots), and engagement sessions. But I specialize in children’s photography, working with kids of all ages – from newborns to teens. And I absolutely ADORE what I do!

For children and family sessions, I strive to capture who my subjects are and not just what they look like. I will pose my subjects for some images, but also love to capture moments during the sessions with a candid approach. Sessions take place in natural or urban settings, with natural light, instead of a studio. This typically makes for a more relaxed environment. Play and exploration are encouraged with my young subjects and their families and I look at the session as an experience to be enjoyed and remembered.

Newborn sessions are held in your home and, if weather permits, your yard or porch or other very close outdoor environment. I bring lots of wonderful props, blankets, hats, etc., but will also utilize any items of yours you may want in the images. These sessions have the best results when they take place within the first 10 days of your baby’s life.

I am proud to work with a wonderful make-up artist, Christi Stewart of Robin’s Nest, to offer sessions for women. Christi helps to enhance the beauty of each lady we work with and I capture them in a way that helps them express and celebrate who they are.
